Sumter, South Carolina
Nestled in the "High Hills of the Santee" and surrounded by Civil and Revolutionary War history, Beech Creek Golf Club is a superb par 72 championship layout designed by Ron Goodson. Measuring 6800 yards from the tips, Beech Creek offers four sets of tees to provide a challenge for golfers of all skill levels. Gently rolling fairways wind through woodlands and wetlands, highlands and lowlands to well manicured bermuda greens. These large undulating greens provide for many different hole locations and can tax even the best putters. Large pines and oak trees provide the primary obstacles in navigating the first five holes which wind around a natural wetland area.Over the next nine holes, the layout climbs up and down the hillside over a more open piece of land where wind can certainly play a factor. From the 13th Green, which is the highest spot on the course, one can see for 15 miles. The final holes return to the tree line and prove to be a difficult finish with the creek in play on all four holes. Beech Creek also has an excellent practice facility with a large putting green and a secluded grass tee driving range. PGA professionals are available for instruction and will see to it that your experience at Beech Creek is an enjoyable one.
