Egwani Farms is a family-run golf course which opened in 1991. It was the dream of Ernest Koella, Jr. img-1 to provide the Knoxville area with a top-notch public golf facility. He wanted not only the best maintained course, but also the best total golf experience. To him, that meant friendly service, a round of 4 hours and an ice cold beer. Today, carrying on his dream is his daughter Lisa, who grew up on the Egwani property when it was still a farm. The name ""Egwani"" is Cherokee for ""little river."" The Little River borders Egwani for 1.5 miles. This river bottom was once a summer fishing village for the Cherokee.
