Gypsum, Colorado
Gypsum Creek Golf Course is nestled in the beautiful Gypsum Creek Valley, it sprawls across a sage-covered mesa that overlooks the surrounding countryside. The scenic and challenging course is a Pete Dye design that is player friendly enough for all skill levels. Although it's still approachable for high handicappers, Dye included some of his signature challenges to keep it interesting for more advanced players. The rolling fairways are lined with native pinion and juniper trees and the undulating terrain provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The golf course requires concentration, which may be hard with the stunning views of the Red Table Mountains from nearly every hole. The signature par 3 seventeenth hole will leave you breathless with spectacular views of Castle Peak, the New York Range and the Red Table Mountains in the background. Golfers must select the right club to land on the green 300 feet below the back tees or risk losing a stroke to a pristine ranchers pasture.
