Hawthorne Hills Golf Course

Saukville, Wisconsin

Hawthorne Hills Golf Course is a Saukville golf course only about a half-hour north of Milwaukee. With the profusion of championship golf courses within an hour of the metro area, Hawthorne Hills is sometimes overlooked. However, Golf Digest did not look past it when the magazine awarded the course four stars. This may be one of the best golf courses in Wisconsin that many even avid golfers are not familiar with. One reviewer called it "a hidden gem." This 18 hole layout, adjacent to a county park of the same name, first opened in 1964. Today, the par 72 course can stretch to 6,657 yards from the back tees. The slope is 119, and the course rating is 70.8. Tree-lined rolling fairways, bunkers, and water hazards contribute to a good test of most of the clubs in your bag. Amenities are pretty good for a county course. A driving range, short game practice area, and putting green are available. The pro shop is thoroughly stocked. Jodi's 19th Hole Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Golfers can relax on the deck and at the gazebo overlooking the first hole. Hawthorne Hills offers golfers wanting tee times in Saukville an excellent value.
