The Golf Club at Newcastle, in Newcastle, Washington, is the Puget Sound’s premier public golf course. The property features 36 holes of championship golf framed by stunning, panoramic views of Lake Washington, Mount Rainier, the Olympic and Cascade Mountains and the Seattle skyline. Designed by renowned golf course architect Robert E. Cupp, in consultation with Masters Champion Fred Couples, the Seattle-area golf course combines characteristics of some of golf’s legendary courses. Newcastle boasts two championship courses that cover 350 mountaintop acres. The Coal Creek golf course has a challenging layout that features well-bunkered landing areas, rolling fairways, undulating greens and multiple elevation changes. The China Creek golf course combines mesmerizing views with layouts that provide challenge and variety for golfers of all abilities. Golfers will encounter undulations on several fairways and can anticipate well-placed bunkers throughout the golf course. In addition to these two fine courses, the Golf Club at Newcastle also houses a state-of-the-art practice facility. The practice range provides both grass tees and mats, 30 of which are covered and heated for practice in any season. For the golfing purist, the East Tee features an unmatched area for full swing and short-game practice. The short game area features four chipping and putting greens, three bunkers, numerous grass bunkers and mounding and the opportunity to hit up to 100-yard wedge shots to perfect all areas of your short game.
