Sanctuary Golf Course was voted Chicago Southland golf’s finest course, besting more than 75 other public courses. The poll was run by the Daily Southtown newspaper and more than 50,000 votes were cast. That’s pretty high praise for tee times at this New Lenox golf course, and it’s praise that is well earned. Sanctuary Golf Course, which also earned 4 ½ stars from Golf Digest, is a fantastic facility with a layout that spans 6,846 yards from the back tees for a rating of 71.6 and a slope of 128. Sanctuary Golf Course has a links-style feel and features bent grass greens, tees and fairways with light to heavy fescue rough areas. Sanctuary also has a set of tees that stretch 5,120 yards to accommodate rookies and casual players. It’s this ability to remain challenging yet enjoyable that has made it such a popular course. Oh and by the way, Golf Chicago also deemed Sanctuary as a “Best Buy”, echoing all those other sources in calling this one of the best Chicagoland golf values.
