*NEW COURSE ALERT* TAKE ADVANTAGE OF GREAT COURSE SPECIALS! Today’s tranquil Spruce Creek Fly –In Community was born from the battlefields of WW II. In response to the widening scope of war in Western Europe, the United States Government acquired the Spruce Creek property on September 2, 1943. Soon thereafter, the U.S. Navy began construction of a training field on the site. After WW II, the Navy abandoned the airfield and weeds overtook the once active runways. Now, near the same runway where thousands of young Americans learned to fly in service of their country, people from around the world come to fly, play golf and tennis and invest in what one national magazine has termed “America’s premier residential community”. Spruce Creek Fly – In Community is the most widely – recognized flying and golfing community in America today. With the original 4,000 foot paved and lighted runway now surrounded by such amenities as a completed Fixed Based Operation Airport, a 6,900 yard championship golf course, a full service country club, picnic area complete with gazebos and 24-hour security, the once abandoned field is today much more grand than at any point in her history. Spruce Creek’s history is unique, having been transformed from a war-training center to a beautiful residential fly-in country club community.
