A stop at the clubhouse for a cocktail, sandwich, or dinner provides the opportunity to relax and enjoy the magnificent view from the porch while watching players approach the amphitheater 18th green directly below. The clubhouse has a well equipped pro shop, locker rooms, showers and bag storage. There is a driving range and practice putting green to help hone your game and private lessons are available by appointment. The Stamford Golf Club was organized and founded in July 1897, the links being laid out in the Granthurst Park surrounding the Rexmere Hotel. The clubhouse (pictured left) was built in 1917 and destroyed by fire in 1939. The northern Catskill Mountains provide the setting with historic Mt. Utsayantha dominating the surrounding heights. The views are sweeping and spectacular as the beauty of the countryside unfolds in all its glory with each season. The course is appealing to both experts and high handicappers alike.
