It's sometimes described as a desert course, but "desert mountain" course would be a better description. And, it is long. From the tips it measures 7,015 yards, and it has a very substantial course rating of 73.3. This par 72 championship layout opened in 1999, and it has a slope rating of 132. For those not ambitious enough to take on a 7000+ yard experience, the course can play as short as 5200 yards. The par three eleventh hole is dedicated to former President Reagan, and one can see the presidential library in the distance. This is one of the best reviewed golf courses in Moorpark, California. Some comment on it being a bit pricey, which means that discount California tee times at Tierra Rejada are important to find. If you do, the experience is truly first-class. The practice facilities here are complete, including a range, practice green, and chipping area. PGA professional lessons and a pro shop are a part of the experience. The clubhouse restaurant offers a nice setting in which to kick back and relax after your round. The management at Tierra Rejada has made a concerted effort to put the fun back in golf. This foothills course in eastern Ventura County is at once fun, picturesque, and challenging. It continues to stand out as one of the best golf courses in California.
